Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Who is top of Serie A?
Napoli moved back to the top of the table with a routine 3-0 win over Bologna last night. After winning their first 8 games, a 0-0 draw at Jose Mourinho’s Roma had seen Napoli leapfrogged by AC Milan, but two penalties from Lorenzo Insigne, following Fabian Ruiz’s opener, gave the Naples side a 9th win in 10 Serie A games and their place back at the top of the table.
Penalty Goal Minutes (settled at 103)
While star striker Victory Osimhen wasn’t among the goals, he did force the two penalties that were slotted away by Insigne. The Nigerian striker pressured Bologna defender Gary Medal into handling in the area in the 41st minute, and went down in the penalty box in the 62nd minute. Italy international Insigne made no mistakes, and punters who bought Penalty Goal Minutes, set at 17-20, made 83 times their bet.
What happened in the NFL Thursday Night Football between the Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers?
Green Bay inflicted the first defeat of the season on Arizona in what was billed as the biggest TNF game of the Super Bowl era, edging it 24-21. The Packers, themselves on a six-game winning streak after losing their season opener, needed a game-winning interception from Rasul Douglas with seconds left on the clock to seal the win. Ironically, Douglas only joined the Green Bay last month after being cut by Arizona. Both sides now have 7-1 records for the season.
Randall Cobb Super Mega Minutes (settled at 126)
With positive Covid-19 tests meaning receivers Devante Adams and Allen Lazard both had to miss out, it was veteran Randall Cobb who took up the slack in terms of scoring touchdowns. With a 10-7 half-time lead, Aaron Rodgers found Cobb in the end zone to put the Packers 10 points clear early in the second half. James Connor got the Cards back within 3, but Cobb scored again to restore the 10-points cushion. Conner made it 24-21 with 11 minutes on the clock, but try as they did, Arizona couldn’t get over the hump. Cobb’s Super Mega Minutes, which double the time of any 2nd TD and treble those of any 3rd, was set at 19-23, meaning buyers won 103 times their bet.
Who is the main danger to England in the T20 World Cup?
England take on old foes Australia tomorrow in the T20 World Cup, and the Aussies looked in top form yesterday in beating Sri Lanka to, like England, maintain their 100% record after two games. David Warner, who was in such bad form in the IPL that he was dropped and didn’t play for much of the UAE leg of the competition, top scored with 65 and looked like he was getting back to his best as Australia successfully chased down Sri Lanka’s 154-6 with three overs to spare.
Australia 1st 6 (Settled at 63)
Warner and opening partner Aaron Finch got on with the run chase in double quick fashion, scoring 63 in the first 6 overs, the top scoring power play of the tournament t so far. The spread for this market was set at 46-49, so punters who saw this opening salvo coming won 14 times their stake.
