Will Manchester City make a mockery of Celtic when they travel to Glasgow at 7.45pm on BT Sport 2? While Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho have seen their perfect starts collapse thanks to a variety of different factors (including the latter’s loss to City in the Manc derby), Pep Guardiola has seen his side go from strength to strength. The Spaniard’s 10 wins in 10 games is a staggering record, a feat made even more impressive by the fact that City have also scored a whopping 29 goals during that period. What’s more 11 of those goals have come from Sergio Aguero, who has a Super Mega PGM of 82-97, more than a third of the total the Argentine managed during last season. Not everything is perfect for City, with the Belgian pairing of Vincent Kompany and Kevin de Bruyne both out injured for around 3 weeks. Those troubles are no match, however, for the European issues Celtic have suffered this season. While they have romped to the top of the Scottish Premier League, with 5 wins, 1 draw and a whopping 23 goals, in the Champions League they have been little more than an embarrassment. One would think that a campaign that begins with a defeat to Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps has already hit its nadir. But no, Celtic’s low came at the Nou Camp, with Lionel Messi and co. inflicting a truly horrendous 7-0 hammering. Perhaps Moussa Dembele, who has 10 goals and a Super Mega PGM of 16-20, can help inspire a European turnaround for the Hoops. Given the form City are in, and the annihilation incurred in their opening group game, Brendran Rodgers’ side could be in for another ugly evening, Spreadex offering a Manchester City/Celtic (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.6-1.8 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.25-3.45. Can Arsenal build on their weekend momentum with a win over FC Basel at 7.45pm on BT Sport 3? There were justifiable grumbles from Gunners’ fans at the start of the season, with a loss against Liverpool followed by a draw against Leicester. Since then, however, Arsenal have looked better and better, culminating in a silky smooth 3-0 victory over Chelsea on the 20th anniversary of Arsene Wenger’s time at the club. In terms of Wednesday’s game Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud will both be absent, through injury and suspension respectively, leaving the chance for summer signings Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez (the latter at a Supper Mega PGM of 43-50) to make their case for a starting position in the league. Though it is only the Swiss Super League it would be unfair to dismiss FC Basel’s form this season – 9 wins from 9 is an inarguable achievement regardless of the perceived difficulty of the league, and is a swift turnaround from a rather disastrous pre-season run. A draw against Bulgarian champions Ludogrets Razgrad is less impressive, though it does admittedly leave the Swiss side on the same amount of points as PSG and Arsenal. Anything but an emphatic win will be a disappointment for Wenger and co., especially since PSG could get a cricket score against Ludogrets. Our traders think it should be fairly comfortable, with Spreadex offering an Arsenal/Basel Goal Supremacy spread of 1.8-2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.2-3.4.
