1. Aston Villa 2015/16 – 73.42 minutes
In 2015/16, when they finished in 20th place with just 17 points (half of 19th place Norwich), Villa failed to score in 18 fixtures, resulting in an average 1st match goal time of 73.42 minutes.

2. Sunderland 2016/17 – 71.66 minutes
The Black Cats make 3 appearances on this list, more than any other side. Relegated in 2016/17 under David Moyes, it took them an average of 71.66 minutes a game to score their 1st goal.

3. Manchester City 2006/07 – 70.74 minutes
The only club to feature in the top 10 fastest and slowest teams in Premier League history, City’s 70.74 minute 1st goal average in 2006/07 is a stark reminder of the transformative powers of an Abu Dhabi cash injection.

4. Sunderland 2002/03 – 70.39 minutes
Another 20th place finish for Sunderland, and another appearance in the top 10. In a season that saw the club employ 3 different managers, the Black Cats managed an average 1st match goal time of 70.39 minutes.

5. Swansea City 2017/18 – 69.55 minutes
Relegated in 2017/18, the Swans’ last appearance in the Premier League wasn’t one to remember – it took them an average of 69.55 minutes to score their 1st match goal.

6. Derby County 2007/08 – 68.63 minutes
Given the chop in 2007/08 – they haven’t been back in the Premier League since – Derby’s torrid final season in the top flight saw an average 1st goal time of 68.63 minutes.

7. Sunderland 2001/02 – 68.50 minutes
The club’s third and final appearance on this list, Sunderland’s 2001/02 side – who only narrowly avoided the drop – took an average of 68.50 minutes to score their 1st match goal.

8. Birmingham 2002/03 – 67.97 minutes
Coming in 13th place, Birmingham’s 2002/03 side are actually the team with the best league finish in this top 10, even with an average 1st goal time of 67.97 minutes.

9. Cardiff City 2018/19 – 67.89 minutes
One of the sides to suffer the drop in 2018/19, Neil Warnock’s Cardiff struggled going forwards, taking an average of 67.89 minutes to score their 1st match goal.

10. Huddersfield Town 2017/18 – 67.76 minutes
One of their two seasons in the top flight, the Terriers scored their 1st match goal in an average of 67.76 minutes per game. With a similarly terrible record in 2018/19, Huddersfield may be 10th on this list, but are actually the all-time slowest scoring club in Premier League history.
