We’re a good chunk of the way into a truly wild Premier League season, one that has been catnip for Fantasy Football enthusiasts, desperately trying to maximise those goals and assists. That’s why Spreadex has taken a look at who will end the season as the top 10 most creative players in the league and who exactly FPL fans should have in their team come this weekend. One of the biggest surprises has been Harry Kane. Not his scoring – he’s on 7, 1 behind teammate Son – but his creativity. How many assists will Kane get this season? Can he win Premier League Playmaker of the Season? Or will another, younger Englishman overtake him? 1. Harry Kane – 8 assists, 14.5 predictedJose Mourinho seems to have unlocked something in Harry Kane. The England captain famously told his manager he wanted to be on the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during Amazon’s All or Nothing documentary. And this season he has the stats to back him up. Serving Spurs in a slightly adjusted role, he has 13 goals in 14 appearances in all competitions, with a league-leading 8 assists domestically. The big question is: can he keep it up? For context, he has 28 Premier League assists during his time in the top flight, meaning his 2020/21 showing is close to a third of his overall tally. Spreadex has him nearly doubling his current total, expecting an average 14.5 assists. In comparison, Kane is heading for 22.75 goals, his best haul since 2017/18. 2. Kevin De Bruyne – 3 assists, 14.25 predictedWinner of 2 Playmaker of the Season trophies – an award only won by Belgians since its inception in 2017/18 – and the joint assist record holder with Thierry Henry, Kevin De Bruyne is breathing down Kane’s neck. Even though he only has 3 assists this season, he is still expected to get 14.25 assists in 2020/21 – for reference, since joining City he has averaged 13.2 assists a season. Remove his injury-plagued 2018/19, and it’s an average of 16. And after a career-best 13 league goals in 2019/20, he is expected to get 10.5 goals – though he needs to get moving, after scoring 1 in 6 appearances. 3. Jack Grealish – 5 assists, 12 predictedThe dark horse in this race, Jack Grealish appears to have made something of a wise choice in resigning with Aston Villa. Instrumental in the club’s victories over the likes of Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal, the 25-year old has 5 assists, and is expected to hit 12 by the end of the season. And he could match that goals-wise as well. On 4 already, Spreadex fancies him to get 10.5 goals in 2020/21. =4. Hakim Ziyech – 3 assists, 11 predictedHere we get to a bit of a log-jam, with 3 players expected to get 11 assists this season. First up we’ll take a look at Hakim Ziyech, the Chelsea summer signing who, after a delayed start, now has 3 assists in only 4 league appearances. That’s an impressive record, and should only improve as Frank Lampard’s team continues to settle into their new look – Spreadex has the Moroccan international hitting 11 assists in his debut season. =4. James Rodriquez – 3 assists, 11 predictedAnother Premier League newbie, and potentially one of the best signings of the season, James Rodriguez has nabbed 3 assists in 7 league games in 2020/21. Like Ziyech, Spreadex have the Colombian hitting 11 assists by the end of 2020/21. In an inconsistent career, the 13 assists he got in his first season for Real Madrid is his own personal high watermark. =4. Bruno Fernandes – 3 assists, 11 predictedThe 3rd and final player expected to get 11 assists this season is Bruno Fernandes, who has already had a hand in 3 league goals in 2020/21. In league competitions last season he got 14 assists total, 7 in the Premier League and 7 in the Primeira Liga. The Portuguese penalty supremo is also already on 5 league goals this season, leading Spreadex to estimate he will hit 15.75 goals total. 7. Marcus Rashford – 3 assists, 9 predictedMaking headlines on and off the pitch, Marcus Rashford has 3 league assists to go alongside his 2 league goals in 2020/21. Spreadex expects Rashford to triple his assist total to 9, compared to his personal best 8 assists in 2019/20. He should also pick up his rate of conversion, with Spreadex estimating 13.75 goals this season – nevertheless a reduction on last year’s 17. 8. John McGinn – 4 assists, 8.25 predictedOne of the more unlikely names on this list, John McGinn has 4 assists already this season, and should be able to get an estimated 8.25 assists total. That would get him near the kind of numbers he posted in his first season with Villa in the Championship. =9. Willian – 2 assists, 7.75 predictedSince he made his way to the Premier League in 2013/14, Willian has managed 35 assists in 241 appearances – 2 of which have come for Arsenal since signing for the Gunners over the summer. With Mikel Arteta’s side all over the place, the Brazilian is still looking at an average of 7.75 assists this season – more than the 7 he got in his final season at Stamford Bridge. =9. Andrew Robertson – 2 assists, 7.75 predictedLike Willian, Andrew Robertson is expected to get an average 7.75 assists this season, having nabbed 2 already in 2020/21. That would be quite the comedown from last season, however, when the 26-year old Scot got 12 assists during Liverpool’s title-winning run.Read the info button on for details on assist adjudication.
