UEFA Europa League Preview – Dynamo Kiev vs Chelsea/Arsenal vs Rennes, Thursday 14th March 2019



Will Rennes ruin Arsenal’s Europa League dreams, or can the Gunners gun them down at 8pm on BT Sport 2?

Unai Emery’s lads made an absolute mess of their trip to France last week. Having opened scoring early thanks to Alex Iwobi’s 4th minute strike, everything was going as planned. However, a 2nd yellow for Sokratis just before the break caused them to collapse, with Rennes nabbing an equaliser almost immediately. An own goal from Nacho Monreal then followed the other side of the hour mark, with Ismaila Sarr putting the boot in with a 3rd a couple of minutes before the whistle.


But they aren’t out of Europe just yet. A 2-0 win would be enough to put them through thanks to their away goal. And no offence to Rennes, but if they could end Man United’s domestic unbeaten streak under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by the same result, they have it in them to best a side that are 8th in Ligue 1.

The Gunners are also boosted by the return of Alexandre Lacazette from suspension; he heads into Thursday night at a Super Mega PGM of 58-68, quite a way behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s massive 93-108.

The hosts should win on Thursday. Whether they win by enough is the question. Spreadex are offering an Arsenal/Renne Goal Supremacy spread of 1.9-2.1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.4-3.6.

Chelsea’s job isn’t anywhere near as tricky; they’ve just got to hold their nerve when they travel to Dynamo Kiev at 5.55pm on BT Sport 3. Last week’s fixture went pretty much as expected, the Blues continuing their impressive Europa League form as they beat Dynamo 3-0, with goals from Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi.


That lead shouldn’t be too tested on Thursday, with Spreadex offering a Chelsea/Dynamo Kiev (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.55-0.75, alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.4-2.6.
