Preview
We have seven matches involving our partner clubs in our Championship preview this week including two televised matches live on Sky Sports.
For those who like acca betting, a £1 accumulator bet on all seven to win would return a whopping £904.94 thanks to our acca boost feature and our excellent Championship odds.
The first match in our Championship football betting preview sees principal partner Sunderland travel to South Yorkshire where they will face a winless Sheffield Wednesday side. It is not a happy camp at Hillsborough currently, and the Black Cats are 13/10 to get the win tonight with the draw at 5/2 and a home win at 9/4.
We have a couple of betting offers for tonight’s action for you with Sunderland’s Jack Clarke 23/10 to score anytime from 2/1 and a Sunderland win with both sides scoring boosted to 15/4 from 16/5.
In our football spread betting markets Bookings is available to buy or sell at 51-55 whilst one of our more niche markets, Goals x Corners, is 23.5-26.5.
The second of our sides to face South Yorkshire opposition are Cardiff City who play host to Rotherham tomorrow. The Bluebirds are strong odds-on favourites for the match at 4/6 with Rotherham at 4/1 and the draw is 29/10.
The Millers have been conceding at a rate of over two per game in the league so far this season and you can back Cardiff to score over 1.5 goals at 4/5 and Cardiff -1 on the handicap is available to back at 19/10.
In our football spread betting markets, the time of the 1st Cardiff goal is available to buy or sell at 45-48 whilst Total Goal Minutes is 130-140.
Huddersfield Town may well be unbeaten in four matches, but new man Darren Moore looks to have a tough first assignment when his side face Ipswich Town. Kieran McKenna has driven the Tractor Boys to second in the league as they look to be the first side since Southampton in the 2011/12 season to make it back-to-back promotions to reach the Premier League.
Town are 14/5 to get the win, with the draw the same price and Ipswich a shade of odds on at 19/20. For those who fancy Ipswich to do a real number on their hosts then you can back them to score first and lead at both half-time and full time at 9/4 using our Bet Builder function.
Having made a flying start to the season Birmingham City have fallen away of late and the Blues are without a win in four matches ahead of a trip to Carrow Road where Norwich are the 10/11 favourites. An away win is priced up at 3/1 with the draw at 13/5.
Norwich have seen an average of over four goals per game scored in their league matches this year and you can back over 2.5 goals at 5/6 and over 3.5 goals at 11/5. For those who prefer a football spread betting angle, you can play the Total Goals spread at 2.55-2.75 whilst Total Goal Minutes (which settled at 439 in Norwich’s 6-2 defeat at Plymouth last weekend) is available to buy or sell at 130-140.
As an aside, the Canaries are currently priced at 15/4 in the Championship promotion betting market which is the shortest price of any of our partner clubs. Sunderland are the next shortest in the Championship promotion odds at 11/2.
Ryan Lowe’s Preston are unexpectedly amongst the early pacesetters in the second tier, and they are narrow favourites for this weekend’s clash with our partner club West Brom. The Baggies are 21/10 to end the last unbeaten record in the division whilst a home win is 29/20 and the draw can be backed at 9/4.
The last three West Brom matches in the league have finished all square so the draw is a real contender this weekend and you can back 0-0 on the correct score market at 13/2 whilst a 1-1 draw is 5/1.
Watford round off our Saturday betting preview when they welcome Middlesbrough to Vicarage Road. The Hornets were outclassed last weekend at Elland Road by Leeds and they are 7/5 to bounce back with a victory tomorrow.
Boro got their first league win of the season last weekend with a 2-1 win over beleaguered Southampton and the Teessiders are 19/10 to make it two on the spin with the draw at 5/2.
There have been 15 goals scored across Watford’s last four matches and the Total Goals spread is once again 2.55-2.75 whilst for those of you with a fixed odds persuasion you can back over 2.5 goals at 5/6, with the unders the same price.
Blackburn play host to league leaders Leicester City in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Sunday and football betting punters may well be surprised to find the Foxes odds against at 21/20 to get three points this weekend. Enzo Maresca’s side have been in fine fettle this season and are 13/10 favourites in the Championship winner odds.
However, Rovers – who are 5/2 to get a win this weekend – have lost three of their last four matches and currently sit in 14th place.
We have a couple of odds boosts for the clash at Ewood Park with Kelechi Iheanacho to score anytime boosted from 11/10 to 5/4 whilst Harry Leonard is 9/4 from 19/10 to hit the back of the net anytime for the hosts.
