Can Derby return to the play-off zone – however briefly – with a victory at Nottingham Forest on Monday, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Football? For a team whose best run of form was a 3 game winning streak all the way back in late August/early September, Frank Lampard’s Rams are still very much in the race for promotion, at least via the Wembley-route. Currently they are lurking in 7th place on 51 points, 2 points off of Bristol in 6th, the side they are most likely to be battling with for that final play-off space (their trip to Ashton Gate at the end of April is going to be a biggie).
Forest, meanwhile, are probably stuck in the Championship for another season. Though only 2 places behind Derby, they are 4 points adrift of their Monday hosts having played one more game. They’ve actually lost a similar amount of fixtures to the Rams – 9 to the latter’s 8 – but have drawn just shy of half of their matches, causing the points-deficit. With 16 goals total – 15 coming in the league – Lewis Grabban is the hottest prospect going forwards, and has been rewarded accordingly, the 31-year old sitting at a Super Mega PGM of 33-39. For Derby, meanwhile, Jack Marriott is at 24-29 despite having scored 2 fewer goals than teammate Harry Wilson, who sit at 13-17. Last time the 2 sides met it was hardly a thrilling encounter, with the honours shared after a goalless draw at Pride Park in mid-December. There’s no guarantee it’ll be any better on Monday, with Spreadex offering a narrow Nottingham Forest/Derby Goal Supremacy spread of 0.05-0.25 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.45-2.65 and a Bookings spread of 52-56.
