Last year’s win came on soft going but she followed up over 1m6f on good to firm ground, also at Haydock, and the prevailing underfoot conditions won’t bother her. She’s likely to be prominent in a race largely devoid of early pace – I’m hoping/expecting that she’ll sit in second place in the early stages behind likely leader and main danger Bollin Margaret – before taking it up close home. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

The first-time cheekpieces might not necessarily help the son of Garswood – his sire’s progeny are just two from 50 when fitted with this headgear (winners at 1-4 and 11-4), and his previous flirtations with first-time headgear resulted in a six-length defeat in a visor when 4-7 favourite, a 19^th of 22 in a tongue-tie and an eighth of 15 in a hood.
