Andrew starts the new week with two recommended bets/trades over the sticks at Stratford on Monday, October 9th.

STRATFORD 3.40

FAMOSO was only fifth at Warwick last time but made a big move three out, making up ground too quickly, and is was no surprise that his effort petered out. Matt Sheppard’s seven-year-old won over the 2m1f trip at Stratford on his penultimate start and his only other run at this venue resulted in a 17-2 runner-up effort. Today’s 2m3.5f trip is perhaps at the outer reaches of his stamina limit but the return to this venue could be the key. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back FAMOSO in Stratford 3.40

 

STRATFORD 5.15

MOON CHIME kept on well to land a Worcester bumper on his debut back in May but might have been flattered by racing wide on the better ground and form from that venue rarely translates wells to Stratford, a much sharper track. Since 2007, last-time-out Worcester winners are just 19 from 121 (15.7%) for a loss of £54.40 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 28). Sell in the 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose MOON CHIME in Stratford 5.15
