MAREFUORI won well on his latest start but that was on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface and the return to turf is far from certain to suit Marco Botti’s colt. In the past ten years, Botti has switched 109 last-time out all-weather winners to grass and only nine won (8.7%) for a loss of £45.09 to a £1 level stake at SP (-43.4% on turnover). Those who won at Wolverhampton last time were 0-34. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with LET’S DREAM.

KEMPTON 5.25

I want to take on Godolphin’s IMPORTANT ROLE in this 7f novice contest, as the son of Dubawi looks short enough in the betting after trailing home in seventh place when 6-5 favourite for a similar course and distance contest on his debut two months ago. However, rather than sell him in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market I’m going to take a punt on Ralph Beckett’s debutant ZOUM ZOUM. Since the beginning of 2012, Beckett is six from 25 with gelded newcomers on the all-weather and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £37.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Plenty of the beaten horses also made the frame and he rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Back ZOUM ZOUM in Kempton 5.25
