Sunderland fans will be happy with how their team are performing in the Premier League this season, after only seeing their side lose 4 games all season and go into 2026 undefeated at home in the league with 5 wins and 4 draws.
SUNDERLAND RECENT FORM
DRAW: Leeds, 1-1 28th December 2025
DRAW: Brighton, 0-0 20th December 2025
WIN: Newcastle, 1-0 14th December 2025
Manchester City make the trip north still trailing Arsenal by 2 points in the league. A Rayan Cherki winner in the 83rd minute secured City all 3 points just after Christmas, but this is surly an unexpected more difficult tie trying to give Sunderland their first home defeat of the season on New Year's Day.
MAN CITY RECENT FORM
WIN: Nottingham, 2-1 27th December 2025
WIN: West Ham, 3-0 20th December 2025
WIN: Crystal Palace, 3-0 14th December 2025

Our football spread betting prices have the Goal Supremacy as Man City / Sunderland (h) at 1.3–1.5. This means a ‘buy’ bet at 1.5 would need Manchester City to win by two goals in order to start turning a profit (e.g. a two-goal win would win 0.5× your stake, a three-goal win 1.5× your stake, a four-goal win 2.5× your stake, etc.).
A 1.3 ‘sell’ bet would need either a Manchester City win by one goal, a draw, or Sunderland to win to turn a profit (e.g. a Manchester City win by one goal would win 0.3× your stake, a draw would win 1.3× your stake, and a Sunderland win by one goal would win 2.3× your stake, etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.05–3.25. This means a 3.25 ‘buy’ bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a 3.05 ‘sell’ bet would need three goals or fewer to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
There have been a minimum of three goals scored in nine of Manchester City’s most recent games, including a 3–0 win over Sunderland at the Etihad at the beginning of December.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. For example, a 3.25 ‘buy’ Total Goals bet would lose 3.25× your stake if the match ended 0–0. In the 1.5 ‘buy’ Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended a draw, the bet would lose 1.5× your stake. If Sunderland won by one goal, then it would lose 2.5× your stake, etc. And in the 1.3 ‘sell’ Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.3× your stake on a 1–0 Manchester City win, 0.7× your stake on a 2–0 Manchester City win, etc.
We also have our player spread markets, including Player Goal Minutes which will be available closer to kick off. Rayan Cherki scored a late winner last time out; his PGM is set at 10-13
