WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY’S BIG WINNING BETS

It has been an interesting week for cricket betting punters with a record-breaking Test between South Africa and India, alongside the Big Bash and Australia’s Test with Pakistan.

Elsewhere, the FA Cup got underway last night in an understated fashion whilst the other pick on our big winning bets blog came from Newcastle’s evening card yesterday.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

SOUTH AFRICA v INDIA – SOUTH AFRICA 1ST INNINGS RUNS (SETTLED AT 55)

An exceptional test at Newlands between South Africa and India saw the hosts level the series in a match that lasted just a day and a half. With 642 deliveries in total it was the shortest ever Test match to produce a winner and the extreme result was good news for some of our cricket spread betting punters.

The first innings of the match saw South Africa skittled for just 55 runs as Mohammed Siraj finished with figures of 6-15 as the Proteas limped to their lowest ever total since scoring 45 against Australia in 1932.

The runs spread on South Africa’s first innings was 285-300 as those placing a sell bet landed a win of 230x their stake. There was also a big winning bet for those eyeing an opportunity in our in-play betting. Just before being reduced to 153-5 in their first innings, the Indian runs spread was 290-300, but in a remarkable spell, they would lose their last six wickets without scoring another run.

Canny sellers who foresaw that collapse landed a win of 137x their stake.

CRYSTAL PALACE v EVERTON – SHIRT NUMBERS (SETTLED AT 0)

With plenty of rotated sides and some fringe players getting a run out, Shirt Numbers is one of our more popular football spread betting markets on an FA Cup weekend, but it was sellers who came out on top last night at Selhurst Park.

In the bouncing South London rain, Everton and Crystal Palace fought themselves to a standstill with the only event of note being Dominic Calvert Lewin’s controversial red card in the 79th minute.

Before kick-off the Shirt Numbers spread was 31-34, but with neither side hitting the back of the net in the downpour, the spread settled at 0 as sellers landed a win of 31x their stake.

NEWCASTLE 04TH JANUARY – SP LENGHTS (SETTLED AT 202)

There was a nine-race card at Newcastle yesterday evening for horse racing spread bettors to enjoy and it proved to be a profitable evening for those who bought SP Lengths at 67-75 before the off in the first.

This horse racing spread is settled on the SP of the winner multiplied by the number of lengths won by and then aggregated for the whole meeting and it really was a case of the lucky last for buyers.

Ahead of the ninth race, they were already sat on a profit of 22x their stake, but The Gay Blade’s seven length success for Iain Jardine saw their profit shoot up as the spread settled at 202. That left sellers cashing a big winning bet of 127x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
