The big boys enter the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, leaving plenty of room for scalps and surprises galore. But what exactly should you be paying attention to?

1. Portsmouth vs Southampton – Bookings, 42-46
Tuesday’s televised fixture sees the first South Coast derby since 2012, when Southampton hosted Portsmouth in the Championship.

This time the clash is at Fratton Park, with Pompey in League One and the Saints in the Premier League. The hosts have had a rough start to the season, with just one with in 7 games; the visitors, meanwhile, lost their most recent derby 3-1 at Bournemouth.

18-year old Bukayo Saka was a big part of their win over Eintracht Frankfurt last week, and could be influential on Tuesday. He sits at a SMM spread of 25-30.


4. Colchester vs Tottenham – Total Goal Minutes, 173-188
Spurts will be wanting to put their loss at Leicester behind them when they travel to Colchester. The League Two side have already knocked out a London club this season, beating Crystal Palace 5-4 on penalties in the last round.

They could be in trouble on Tuesday, however, with Spreadex’s Total Goal Minutes spread of 173-188 likely not going to be aided by the home side.


5. Sheffield Wednesday vs Everton – Sheffield Wednesday to win match, 15.3-21.1
