Spread Bets Of The Day

Big Midweek Winners

International breaks always seem to bring about a bit of a lull (unless you happen to be Welsh, or Macedonian for that matter) but there has still been plenty for punters to get stuck into this week with action coming all over the world.

In a week where we can get one over on our Italian friends (we aren’t still bitter about the Euros!) we find out where the smart money went in midweek.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, losses may exceed deposits when spread betting.

WESTS TIGERS v NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 52)

The NRL is arguably the best rugby competition in either code and whilst Wests and New Zealand will likely be mid-table in the ladder come the end of the season, they still served up an entertaining enough game on Friday morning.

One of the rugby league markets which can see big makeups is Multi-Points which is first half points multiplied by second half points and before kick-off it was set at 351-388 in a match that was a real sweat for sellers.

At half-time, the Warriors held a slender 14-12 lead at half-time after tries from Euan Aitken and Adam Pompey with the in-play Multi-Point spread out to 495-547. The points dried up though and the second half was a very tense affair with just a Reece Walsh penalty to show for it meaning the eventual spread settled at 52 leaving relieved sellers collecting 299x their stake.

ITALY v NORTH MACEDONIA SHIRTS v BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 90)

In the space of nine months, Italy have gone from being European champions to being dumped out of World Cup Qualifying by North Macedonia and Thursday’s result in Palermo will surely have raised a few smiles in England.

Roberto Mancini’s side would have scored a hatful on another day and given the expected goals were 1.98-0.17 in their favour, they will probably count themselves a touch unlucky.

As it was, the visitors’ number nine Aleksandar Trajkovski lashed a shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma with almost no time for the Italians to respond to send the Balkan nation on to a one match shoot out with Portugal next week.

It was also a good result for sellers on the Shirts v Bookings market as with only one booking, Tajkovski’s nine was multiplied by a meagre ten booking points. Against an initial spread of 1675-1850, sellers were left claiming a win of 1585x their stake.

JONNY CLAYTON v MICHAEL VAN GERWEN HIGHEST CHECKOUT x 180s (SETTLED AT 966)

MVG reached his third Premier League final in just four weeks on Thursday as he thrilled the home crowd at the Rotterdam Ahoy and although he couldn’t quite get the job done – losing to Joe Cullen in the final – it was still a good night for the Dutchman.

There were plenty of good matches but van Gerwen’s clash in the semis with Jonny Clayton was a high-quality affair and that was highlighted in the Highest Checkout x 180s market.

In the nine legs between the pair, there were seven 180s (4-3 in MVG’s favour) and a high checkout of 138 delivered by the three-time world champion. That left the total market to settle at 966 and those who bought at 561-606 checked out with a win equal to 360x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets during this week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
