Spread Bets Of The Day
Which half of Manchester will end Wednesday evening atop the Premier League? And what should football spread betting fans be keeping an eye on? It’s the Spread Bets of the Day! How many goals will Man City score against Aston Villa? You have to feel sorry for Aston Villa. They should be riding high. Instead, they are coming out the other side of a covid-19 outbreak with the worst fixture imaginable: their rescheduled season curtain raiser against Man City, at 6pm on BT Sport 1. If Villa were to win each of their games in hand, they would be level on points with league leaders Leicester. But the games that’ve been delayed aren’t easy; not only Wednesday’s trip to the Etihad, but visits from Tottenham and Everton. To make matters worse, City are in Terminator mode. In 30 games in all competitions they have lost only twice. Their last defeat was 15 games ago on November 21st. They’ve won 5 league games in a row with just 1 goal conceded. And they’re chasing 1st place. All of this has come in the absence of one true standout going forwards. In the Premier League their top scorer is Raheem Sterling, and he’s on 5 goals in 16 appearances. Villa have Anwar El Ghazi and Jack Grealish both on that total, with Ollie Watkins on 6. Yet Spreadex has Gabriel Jesus at a PGM spread of 29-32, followed by Sterling at 27-30, Kevin De Bruyne at 24-27, and Ferran Torres, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden ALL at 18-21. And what are the odds on Ollie Watkins scoring against Man City? A meagre Player Goal Minutes spread of 10-13. What are the odds on Man City beating Aston Villa? Without first team game time since New Year’s Day, and severely depleted due to covid, the visitors would do well to not get absolutely blown away by their hosts. Sadly, that is easier said than done, leading Spreadex to offer a one-sided Man City/Aston Villa Goal Supremacy spread of 1.65-1.85. That’s alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.2-3.4 – meaning there needs to be at least 4 goals if you buy at that price – and a Total Goal Minutes spread of 161-176. What are the odds on Man United beating Fulham? If Man United beat Fulham this Wednesday, they will not only retake the top spot, but likely have the satisfaction of dethroning City as they do so. They make their way to Craven Cottage at 8.15pm on BT Sport 1. United aren’t exactly convincing league leaders. They have been unable to beat their title competition in the last few months, with draws against Man City, Leicester and, on Sunday, Liverpool. To be fair, that also means they themselves haven’t been beaten by their rivals, but it nevertheless does suggest a lack of big-game bite. In theory, Fulham shouldn’t pose too many problems. However, they’ve become a tricky proposition, with 5 consecutive draws in the league ended only by a late 1-0 loss to Chelsea, after surviving much of the 2nd half with 10 men. With the Cottagers conceding 4 goals in their last 6 league games, a Man United/Fulham (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.95-1.15 – required United to win by at least 2 goals if you buy at that price – might be optimistic. Ditto a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05, or a Total Goal Minutes spread of 146-156. What are the odds on Bruno Fernandes scoring against Fulham? United’s top scorer – 15 goals in all competitions – last found the back of the net on New Year’s Day, and sits at a PGM spread of 24-27. That’s ahead of Marcus Rashford at 22-25 and Edinson Cavani at 23-26. Disclaimer: quote prices are subject to change.
