Spread Bets Of The Day
Aston Villa and Man City make their 2020/21 Premier League debuts on Monday night – but what should football spread betting fans be looking out for? It’s our Sports Spread Bets of the Day! Where will Man City finish in 2020/21?With hopes of retaking their place at the top of English football, Man City travel to Wolves at 8.15pm on Sky Sports Premier League. By anyone else’s standards, last season was a success for City. Yet Pep Guardiola and co. will be keen to forget 2019/20, and will want to put out a statement of intent on Monday night. Relatively quiet on the transfer front – Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres are their only first team signings – City will once again look to Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus, in the absence of the injured Sergio Aguero. What are the odds on Sterling scoring against Wolves? The England ace is at a SMM spread of 35-41, while Jesus is at 33-39. De Bruyne, meanwhile, is at a Player Performance spread of 93-99 – where its 25 points per goal, 10 per assist etc – i.e. the metric through which he won Spreadex’s 2019/20 Player of the Season Award. The visitors head into Monday as not only heavy favourites for game itself, at a Man City/Wolves (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.15-1.35, but as odds on for the title, at 19/20. Spreadex is also offering a City Season Points spread of 88-89.5, to Liverpool’s 86.5-88. But what about Wolves? Now without Diogo Jota – their 2nd top scorer last season with 16 goals in all competitions – and coming off a midweek loss to Stoke in the EFL Cup, they could do without getting hammered at the very least. They do still have Raul Jimenez, at a Player Goal Minutes spread of 12-15. Where will Wolves finish in 2020/21? At a Season Points spread of 57-58.5, Spreadex has them coming in 7th, behind Tottenham but ahead of Everton and Leicester. What are the odds on Aston Villa being relegated? Before City travel to Wolves, Aston Villa host Sheffield United at 6pm on Sky Sports Premier League. After beating Burton Albion 3-1 in the EFL Cup, in a solid showing from new boy Ollie Watkins and a reupped Jack Grealish, Villa will be wanting to stave off relegation talk with a confident win over the Blades. And now is the time to do so. Sheffield lost their opening game within minutes to Wolves last weekend, and went out of the EFL Cup on penalties to Burnley midweek. It’s also a good time to look at Spreadex’s Season Points spreads for both clubs. Villa are one of the favourites to go down, at a Points spread of 38-39.5 and fixed odds of 11/5. And what are the odds on Sheffield United being relegated? They should be safe at a Points spread of 41-42.5, with fixed odds of 10/3 for the drop. As for Monday night, with Ollie Watkins at a PGM spread of 17-20 to Oliver McBurnie’s 13-16, the hosts are fancied at an Aston Villa/Sheffield United Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2.
