However, if a perfect punch ended the fight in 2nd round, say at the 5th minute of total time elapsed, you would be left with a loss of £145 ((5 – 19.5) x £10).

The fight could go on longer and you’d still make money. A stoppage after 17 minutes would leave you with a profit of £40 ((21 – 17) x £10).

However, if the fight were to go the distance, you would suffer a loss of £150 ((21 – 36) x £10).

In-play boxing bets allow you to open or close bets at any point in any round, meaning you can close out of your bets early either to take profits or to cut losses.

BOXING SUPREMACY BETS

Spreadex offers a 10-3 Round Supremacy spread on boxing fights. That is where the winner of the fight receives 10 points plus a further 3 points for every round remaining in the fight, including the current round.

For example, Spreadex are offering a Boxer A/Boxer B 10-3 Supremacy spread of 19-22. If you think Boxer A will win, you would buy at 22. If you think he will lose, then you would sell at 19.

Boxer A then wins a 12 round fight by knockout in the 5th round. That would result in a make-up of 34 ((12-4)*3 – 10), leaving you with 12 times your initial stake (34 – 22 = 12).

Fight Minutes: This is, rather simply, the number of minutes the fight lasts.

You may opt to buy on the spread if you think a fight will go the distance, or sell on the spread if you think it will all be over very quickly!

50-25-10 Index: Ahead of a fight, Spreadex offers 50-25-10 Index spreads on both boxers.

That is where 50 points are awarded for winning the contest by KO, TKO or disqualification, 25 points are awarded for winning the contest on points, and 10 points are awarded for a draw.
